We planted our oats last Thursday and Friday which Kurt thought was the earliest he has ever planted.  Very strange that Kurt planned on putting oats in the field that runs along the road and cow pasture, which is usually the last field you can get into because it is usually a big wet hole.  Not this year, dry as a bone.  Not good. Love it because my cuddly soon-to-be eight-year-old daughter was born this month.  The weather can also be quite nice (and not so), but overall sloppy which we have to go through to get to great weather.  My dislike for the month of March would be I feel pressed for time during the entire month. Not terribly busy but plenty to do.  Monday was my day "off."  I only had to due my normal chores in the morning, come to milk in the afternoon, feed my calves and heifers in the barn around 6pm, and go out at night for the third milking.  Tuesday we test which means there is a technician here who takes a sample from each cow that is milking. We received about 15 inches of snow. Kurt plowed snow for six and half hours yesterday.  Today was a catch up day.  Or atleast try to catch up.  I did three loads of laundry and got one folded. Picture far away sorry...there is a large reel on the front that cuts the oats at the stem and lays them in a pretty row.  This allows them to be combined which is how we harvest oats. See the big reel.  It is a dirty, dirty job driving the swather.  Oats are also very itchy.  I can not explain it. I received a surprise large yellow zucchini which probably made another four cups. I put those shreds in the fridge and they are eagerly waiting to be paired with other ingredients. When boiling hard, add flour and stir well.  Remove from heat.  Add eggs one at a time and beat well.  If you are a skilled baker/cook you are probably going to temper the eggs.  I think that is the proper term and the basic idea is you do not want scrambled eggs.
